Sunday 17 of august, was taking place in Siem Reap, the first marathon in Cambodia organized by the same team than the half-marathon, 515 participants came with a majority of foreigners.
The best result for the entire marathon was around 2h30 to run the 42km: Kieng Samorn, coach of KhmerDev’s CEO and athlete sponsored by the company, won the 10km. Our CEO: Franck Touch crossed the finish line after 4h56 and he is telling us how well the organization was and the atmosphere of this event, even if the run was 44km instead of 42km.
To his eyes, the running challenge as well as all general sports is similar to managing a company. At KhmerDev, employees are regularly encouraged to do sports during football game or by participating to a run, to develop their spirit of competition. According to Franck Touch, the last one; running; is a resource to learn how to manage challenge and the stress going with.
He was saying since more than sixteen years that he would participate to the first Cambodian’s marathon, now he can say ‘I made it’.
He will participate to the next one to try to do a better time, and hope he will convince some other employees to do it with him!
